Silas is a composer and conductor based in Münster, Germany.
He writes for film, television, and the concert hall, and works with an independent orchestra and choir on a regular basis.
His work is grounded in the orchestral tradition — shaped early by transcribing scores by hand to understand how the music behind the screen actually works.
That curiosity took him to Los Angeles, where he sat in on scoring sessions and studied with working studio musicians, composers, and orchestrators.
The lessons stuck: write for the players in the room, serve the picture, leave nothing on the page that doesn't need to be there.
He has composed original music for a range of projects, including a feature documentary that premiered in Los Angeles, and he collaborates regularly with other composers when a score calls for more hands than one.
